[GLOBCOVER] 10. What is the tiling scheme of the GlobCover products?
GlobCover products are tilled in a regular, non-overlapping grid of 5°x5°. The entire Earth is therefore covered by 72 horizontal and 36 vertical tiles.

GlobCover tiles are generated only for the land masses between 85° North and 60° South (V1 to V29).

On the other hand, the torrent files are divided into 20x20 degrees tiles that aggregate several GlobCover tiles in order to maximize the sharing and collaboration between the different users. The next figure examplifies the torrent tile division for the same collection and date period (May/June 2006).
