3rd GlobCover User Consultation
2008-10-02 The 3rd End User Consultation Meeting held at EEA (Copenhagen, Denmark) on 9th-10th September 2008 and enabled Partners and Users to gather again and share their comments and analyzes on the quality of the GlobCover Land Cover version 2 product.
On the 9th and 10th of September 2008, the 3rd GlobCover User Consultation Meeting was held in EEA (Copenhagen, Denmark).
The discussion was focused on the quality of the GlobCover Land Cover version 2 product, in the framework provided by the results of the validation. The overall accuracy of the product is 73% when the major land cover types of the dichotomous phase are considered.
Although some artifacts noted in the 2nd User Consultation Meeting still exist, it was widely agreed that the product has been improved. Furthermore, it was highlighted that the GlobCover system consist of an automatic process chain, which -in the future- could provide a platform for further operational service.
